Can the rambling begin?
This story dates back to a 13-year-old girl who kept notes of every event in her life.
The little girl who wrote about the boys she loved and the teachers she didn’t.
The little girl with dreams and aspirations, writing down every single one of her goals.
This story begins with a 13-year-old girl who used one of the extra 60leaves notebook she got from school to keep track of the important events in her life.
The girl who wanted to relive every memory.
The little girl who wrote down the dates of her friends' birthdays and the gifts she received on her own birthday, so nothing would ever be forgotten.
And 10 years later, that girl is still writing.
She still believes in capturing her highs and lows in words, collecting memories in sentences so she can always have a story to tell.
She still writes about her struggles during exams and her joy when she passes those exams.
She has a lot of stories from a part of her mind she travels to when she needs to get away from the harsh reality of this world.
And today, that girl found a platform, a little corner of the Internet to share her stories with whoever cares to read.
A space to share those stories so they don’t disappear into the “Canal of Kajal”, the place where stories die. (if it existed).
She’s here to share them now, so in another 10 years, she can come back and laugh at this moment when she sat on her 3x4 mattress, in her room painted pink, with the fan blades rolling and humming quietly.
That little girl is Tolulope Onifade, in her final year of medical school, just living, and figuring life out one step at a time.
Welcome to my little corner of the Internet.
It’s fun here and I hope to see you again.❤️
It really gladdens me seeing all my senior colleagues on this app..I'm just inspired to know that outside of medicine, people are writing 🥺💗and we may be twins because exactly what you were doing at age 13 was what I started doing at 12😂💗
Heyyy Queen. I'm looking forward to reading more of your writing. Congrats on your journey in medicine so far!
